Biography
In 1993, he received his Ph.D in Biological Science of Medicine from the Department of Medicine in the University of Montreal, Canada. From 1993 to 1996, he worked as a Research Associate (postdoctoral fellow) at the Department of Inflammation and Autoimmune Diseases in Hoffman-La Roche Inc., inNutley,New Jersey,USA. From 1997 and 2001, he worked as a Visiting Associate and Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation,InstituteofAllergyand Infectious Disease (NIAID),NIH,USA. From 2001 to 2003, he worked as a Staff Scientist at the Cellular Immunology Section,VaccineResearchCenter,NIH,USA. In 2003 to present, he is a professor and director in the Department of Immunology, Zhongshan School of Medicine,Sun Yat-sen University,China.He currently has more than 250 publications in Chinese and English.
Research Interest
He was interested in the study of the differentiation and function of mouse and human CD4+ T cells, and different subsets and function of memory T cells in the infectious diseases. He studies on the expression and regulation of IL-12 receptor, establishes the IL-12 receptor gene knockout mouse model, confirms the biological function of IL-12 receptors, reveals the diversity of Th1 cells and the mechanism of memory T cell formation in vivo.
