Biography
Zheng Xiaoying is working as Associate professor, Standing director of Guangdong pest control association and Guangdong vector biology society. She studied the control of trombiculid mites & tustsugamushi disease and mosquito and mosquito-borne disease since 1987.
Research Interest
Recently, Her research work mainly focus on applying Wolbachia (a certain symbiotic bacteria of insects) to suppress the mosquito vectors and inhibit the transmission of tropical diseases, to create a new model of the combination between laboratory, epidemiology and community interventions, which will promote the interactions between the research productions out of the lab and the research of the community, to establish a new strategy to block the mosquito-borne diseases by Wolbachia.
