Biography
Zhishu Huang, Professor in Medicinal Chemistry & Organic Chemistry, deputy director of the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University. In 1989, she became a faculty member of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University. In 1999, she got PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University. In 2001-2003, she was a postdoctoral fellow in Division of Medicinal Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, University of Texas in Austin, USA. Dr. Huang is specialized in medicinal chemistry and chemical biology, focusing on the research and development of anticancer drugs targeting secondary structural DNA and related proteins, discovery of potential multi-functional anti-Alzheimer agents, the interaction of small molecules with drug targets, and structural modification of active natural products and QSAR. Dr. Huang has been leading a number of research projects funded by NSFC and Guangdong provincial government, and authored/co-authored more than 100 publications and number of authorized patents. Dr. Huang is a committee member of the National Professional Committee of Chemical Biology and a committee member of the National Professional Committee of Medicinal Chemistry.
