Biography
Dr. Zhong is an associate professor of Zhongshan School of Medicine. She obtained her doctoral degree in developmental biology in Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. Then she received her post-doctoral training in the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on the function of microRNAs in the tumorigenesis process and their applications in clinical treatment of gynecologic cancers. She was recruited to current position by the Recruitment Program of Hundred Experts of Sun Yat-Sen University in 2013. She has published nine SCI papers covering the above fields and is expanding her research areas based on the previous studies. She was also invited as a reviewer for some peer review journals, such as Stem Cells, European Journal of Cancerand PLoS ONE.
Research Interest
She established her research interest as following: 1. Explore the working mechanism of non-coding RNAs in stem cell maintenance, differentiation, and in induced pluripotent stem cell generation. 2. Study the initiation and development of hereditary diseases (e.g. hereditary breast cancer) using induced pluripotent stem cell technology. 3. Elucidate the biological functions and working mechanism of non-coding RNAs in cancer biology.She has published nine SCI papers covering the above fields and is expanding her research areas based on the previous studies.
