Zhu Banghao

Biography

Banghao Zhu，Pharmacological professor, School of Medicine, Sun Yat-Sen University. Graduated from School of Medicine, Lanzhou University with a Bachelor’s degree of Medicine and a Master’s degree of Physiology in 1985 and 1988 respectively, awarded a Doctor’s degree of medicine fromSchool of Medicine, Showa University, Tokyo, Japan in 1997. Devoted in the study of the mechanism of diabetic complications and the development of antidiabetic drugs.

Research Interest

Main contributions: 1. Found the translocation of PKC -d was closely related to the diabetic retinopathy; 2. Scutellarin, a native product, has manifold effects in treating diabetic complications besides the inhibitions of PKC -βâ… ,-βâ…¡ and -d; 3. “Tangshiming Drops” had been developing in clinical trials which could be the most effective drug in treating diabetic retinopathy; 4. Found a miraculous substance from natural product which could substitute insulin.
