Ellie Sweeney

Biography

Ellie Sweeney is Executive Director, Global Sales at Telstra, responsible for Global Wholesale and Global Enterprise sales teams, based in Hong Kong. Ellie has worked in the global telecommunications industry for 20 years. She has held key senior roles in consumer, small business, enterprise and government and operations divisions. Her most recent role was Executive Director for Global Wholesale at Telstra, where she was responsible for leading, communicating and executing the Global Wholesale and Over the Top (OTT) strategy. Prior to that, she held the position of Executive Director, Solutions Sales at Telstra, leading the domestic and global sales teams across voice, mobile, data, cloud, UC, security, managed services, industry solutions and alliances. Ellie enjoys working across Telstra to ensure all teams are aligned with the company’s strategic direction, whilst delivering on the operational plan across the strategic pillars of customer experience, value from the core and new growth businesses. She is a driven executive with a strong track record in developing, meeting and exceeding business objectives in the telecommunications, media, advertising and broadband space. A natural leader of diverse global teams, Ellie has successfully moved between sales and operational roles, demonstrated by her varied roles at Telstra over the past eight years. Prior to joining Telstra, Ellie held the position of Director of Sales at leading European directories business, World Directories. Her ambition is to become a better “purpose led” leader. Ellie holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.
