Biography
Martijn Blanken is the Group Managing Director and Chief Customer Officer of Telstra Enterprise, an A$8.3 billion revenue division operating as a global telecommunications services and solutions business. In this role, Martijn is responsible for Telstra's business relationship with multinational corporations and international carriers across Asia, EMEA and the Americas as well as 14,000 business, enterprise and government customers in Australia. His role includes execution on the Telstra Enterprise global growth strategy and in 2015 Martijn played a leading role in Telstra’s A$900M acquisition of Pacnet Ltd, an Asian headquartered provider of connectivity, managed services and data centres. Martijn has extensive experience in senior leadership roles across general management, sales, product management, delivery and service management in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Telstra Corporation. Prior to his current role, Martijn was the President and Managing Director, Telstra Global, based out of Hong Kong. In this role, Martijn was responsible for all aspects of Telstra Global’s operations, from product development and innovation to engineering, sales, finance, IT and customer service. Before that he was the Chief Operating Officer, a position he was appointed to when he joined Telstra Global early 2011. In this role he initiated and executed a number of programs which transformed Telstra's international business. When he initially joined Telstra in July 2009, Martijn held the role of Executive Director, Network & Application Services. In this capacity he managed a strategic repositioning program to drive growth in the managed services market. Prior to joining Telstra, Martijn was the Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan for Openwave Systems. He has also held several senior positions at KPN Royal Dutch Telecom, most recently as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Managed Services and Outsourcing Division, and held non-executive directorships for several KPN Royal Dutch Telecom joint ventures. Martijn holds a MBA from the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
