Biography
Before joining UNNC, I worked as an associate professor of English in China, teaching UG and MA students of English major and master and PhD students of non-English major. I also worked briefly at the University of Manchester and the University of Salford, teaching Chinese language and supervising and examining MA translation and interpreting dissertations. At UNNC, I teach and supervise students of MA Interpreting and Translation programme and supervise PhD students in translation studies and gender studies. I also teach on Gender and Society, a UG faculty module. I co-organise Gender, Culture, and Identities Dialogues seminar series, aiming to broaden the learning experience of students from all faculties.
Research Interest
research interests include gender/queer and translation, feminist translation, translation of women’s writing, literary translation, scientific and technical translation, interpreting in war settings, translation education, and comparative literature.
