Biography
Dr Kufuor obtained a BSc degree in Agricultural Economics (with first class) from the University of Ghana, followed by an MSc degree in Economics and Policy (with distinction) from Wageningen University where he won the prestigious World Bank/AIID award for the Best Master’s Thesis in International Development in the Netherlands. He then obtained a second MSc degree in Economics for Development from Oxford University and completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Nottingham, UK. Previously, Dr Kufuor worked as a teaching and research assistant at the University of Ghana. Then, during his PhD, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nottingham (UK) and as a part-time lecturer at the Nottingham Trent University. In the process, Dr Kufuor taught modules in mainstream economics, business economics, and quantitative economics..In Nottingham, his creative, enthusiastic and engaging teaching approach won him consecutive teaching excellence awards.
Research Interest
Macroeconomic management in sub-Saharan African countries (optimal macroeconomic policies - fiscal policy and monetary policy - and the business cycle), Agricultural Economics (price distortions – associated with exchange rate and trade policies – and agricultural exports), Foreign aid incentive issues, time–series econometrics.
