Biography
Trevor Bayley has been with The University of Nottingham since 2004, with the initial set-up of the China campus. His professional qualifications and experience were initially gained in taxation and accounting, working for the UK government and then in accounting practice, specialising in the music and entertainment industry. Having established an independent practice in 1990 he has, as senior tax partner, trained and consulted in accounting, information systems and taxation to a diverse portfolio of mainly European organisations. He has worked in a wide range of accounting information systems projects and change management, leading design and implementation with several ERP solution providers including MTX (now eTek), Open Systems (US) and Viasys (UK), covering a wide range of software product, mainly focusing on the manufacturing and service industries. His PhD thesis explores evidence-based innovation in teaching and learning, with a focus on accounting student engagement in strategic information systems alignment projects. On the lighter side, he is also a certified rugby coach and has experience coaching various forms of the game, both men and women, at levels ranging from mini to provincial representative sides, in the USA, the UK and now, China
