Biography
Qiang Cao is a Professor at Wuhan National Lab for Optoelectronics and School of Computer Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research spans computer system, architecture and storage. His research interests include computer architecture, large-scale storage systems, and performance evaluation on computer systems. He focuses on questions such as: How to speedup data access? How to store and manage large amount of data? How to keep more memories of human being at acceptable cost in more than centuries? How to mine the value of big data? Qiang has been active in the storage system for more than 10 years, and has over 50 publications major journals and international Conferences in the area, including IEEE-TPDS, IEEE-TC, ACM-TOS, DSN, USENIX ATC, SRDS, ICPP, etc. He is a member of the IEEE ACM, and a senior member of the China Computer Federation. He also has applied for more than 20 Chinese Patents. Qiang teaches Computer architecture in undergraduate and graduate programs.
