Biography
Bingyang Cao received his B.S. (1998) and M.S. (2001) in engineering thermophysics from Shandong University, and Ph.D. (2005) in power engineering and engineering thermophysics from Tsinghua University. He joined Tsinghua University in 2005, and he is currently a full professor and vice dean in the School of Aerospace Engineering, Tsinghua University, China. He also worked in Kyushu University (2005), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2006) and The University of Brighton (2010) as a visiting professor. He is serving as chairman of the Young Scholar Committee of Heat Transfer Society of China, executive board member of Asian Union of Thermal Science and Engineering, and general secretary of 2018 International Heat Transfer Conference. He is also editorial board member of several international journals, such as Scientific Reports, PLOS One, Advances in Materials Research. He has published over 150 journal papers, and given over 20 invited conference talks. His current research interests include micro/nanoscale heat-mass transfer and advanced heat management technologies.
Research Interest
Areas of Research 1) Non-Fourier heat transport and thermophysical properties in micro/nano-structures, including nanofilms, nanowires, nanotubes, graphene, polymer chains etc. 2) Thermal smart materials and nanocomposites with high or tunable thermophysical properties, and their applications in energy or micro/nanoelectrics cooling areas. 3) Thermal management technology and theory in advanced technologies, such as nanoenergy, integrated circuits, laser, spacecrafts. 4) Advanced computational approaches in terms of heat transport, including Molecular dynamics, Phonon Monte Carlo, First principle, Hybrid atomistic-continuum modeling, CFD etc.
