Biography
Karthik Bhat works in the Small Data Lab at UNU-CS. His research interests include HCI, Crowdsourcing and ICT’s for Healthcare. Coming from a background in Computer Science, Karthik aims to develop sustainable and scalable ICT’s to tackle different social problems. In his current work, Karthik seeks to empower civil society organisations through local social media data. He is working on Aggie: a social media aggregation platform which can be deployed to perform election monitoring and hate speech monitoring worldwide. Karthik holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, in India.
