Biography
Dr. Niu received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2008, M.S. degree in 2004. He joined the Database and Mobile Computing Lab, University of Illinois at Chicago, America, during 2007-2009 as a visiting scholar. He has published more than twenty papers and edited 2 books as a partaker. And he currently serves or have served as invited reviewer of academic journals and conference such as Computer Science, Application Resarch of Computers, Journal of Computer Science and Technology, ACM GIS and IEEE ICDE. He also took charge of the Program Chair in The Workshop of The 9th International Conference on Web-based Learning (ICWL 2010), the Program Committee in The Second International Workshop on Information Management for Mobile Applications (in conjunction with VLDB 2012) and Real-Time Mining and Analytics for Big Data (in conjunction with Big Data 2013). Meanwhile, he is also part of the membership of ACM, IEEE CS and the senior member of China Computer Federation.
