Biography
Luis Torres is an organisational psychologist originally from Chile. He did his master’s degree at the University of Barcelona in Spain and his PhD at the University of Nottingham in the UK. Luis has 8 years of experience as a management consultant for companies in Chile, Spain and the UK implementing projects on organisational development, human resource management and business strategy for companies such as the Port of Barcelona in Spain, the Police Investigation Department in Chile, Maritano Ebensperger Toyota Chile and Santander Group Chile, among others. Luis started his professional career in Masisa Chile, Latin American company, as head of recruitment and selection for almost 4 years. Nowadays, he is also acting as external advisor in CSR strategy for the Port of Barcelona. Luis is member of the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) and the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP). In this latter, he participates in the Executive Committee as a Conference Chair.
Research Interest
I am interested in business sustainability issues in developing countries from a management and development studies perspective. Particularly, my current interests are related with the application of development studies theory to business management, the examination of models for corporate social performance, and the identification of best practices for protecting human rights and promoting human development at work.
