Biography
Wei Huang joined The University of Nottingham Ningbo China in 2007 as an assistant professor in NUBS China and was promoted to associate professor in 2017. He has a BSc in Mathematics from Nanjing Normal University, an MSc in Financial Management with distinction from the University of Exeter, and a PHD in Finance from the University of Bristol. Prior to joining Nottingham University, he worked in the University of Bristol as teaching fellow in finance (2003 – 2006) and Northumbria University as senior lecturer in finance (2006 – 2007). Wei’s research focuses mainly on corporate finance, market based accounting research, and SME finance and innovation. He has published extensively in high quality finance, accounting, and economics journals and supervised PHD students to completion in these areas. Wei is also a holder of the The Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) designation, and has extensive experience in consultancy, corporate trainings, and executives education. Professor Huang has been consistently ranked among the best teachers in Nottingham University Business School China according to the Student Evaluations of Teaching (SET) surveys. He has been appointed as one of very few teaching appraisers in the business school here for Nottingham’s faculty trainings PG certificate program in high education since 2012.
