Biography
Dr. Rodney Colina graduated in 1999 with a degree in Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science - University of the Republic, Uruguay. In the Master held in Biological Sciences (UDELAR-PEDECIBA) in Faculty of Science - University of the Republic, Uruguay, working on "Genetic Variability of the Hepatitis C virus." In 2004 he completed a PhD in Biological Sciences (UDELAR-PEDECIBA) in Faculty of Science - University of the Republic, Uruguay. Between 2004 and 2008, he was based in Canada, where he studied Specialization / Improvement Postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, Canada, obtaining the Title: Translational Control of innate immune response. He has participated in numerous international conferences, symposia and meetings. He led the team that organized the II Latin American Symposium on Environmental Virology in April this year, also has an extensive bibliographic production. Besides being the head of the Laboratory of Virology and teach in the UDELAR, currently he serves as an international expert of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Austria, and is Reviewer: Introduction to Research Sectoral Commission for Scientific, Uruguay Research.
