Biography
Professor LIU Haiyan received PhD (1996) from Department of Biology, USTC. From 1993 to 1995, as a jointly trained postgraduate, he studied at Laboratory of Physical Chemistry, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. From 1998 to 2000, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University and at University of North Carolina. Since 2001 he has been a professor at School of Life Sciences, USTC. In 2000, he won support from the CAS Hundred Talents Program. In 2001 he was awarded Grant for Distinguished Young Scholars by the Chinese National Natural Science Foundation. His research interest includes methods and applicaitons of biomolecular simulations, and the design and engineering of biomolecules for synthetic biology. Till 2011 he has (co)authored more than 60 scientific papers in international journals or as book chapters.
