Zheng Zhiming

Biography

Zhiming Zheng, male, was born in Huaining county, Anhui province in1963,professor and an academic advisor for doctoral students of industrial biotechnology, key lab. of Ion Beam Bioengineering, Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He was graduated from East China University of Science and Technology in 1983, and in 1991 got master degree in National Key Laboratory of Biochemical Engineering, Institute of Process Engineering, CAS, majoring in biochemical engineering. He has engaged in the research and development of industrial biotechnology for many years. Several researches have been industrialized successfully. In recent years, about 30 papers have been published in important research journal. Focusing on the fermentation of bulk chemicals, fine chemicals and industrial enzymes ,now his main research interests are ion bean microbial reaction engineering and metabolic engineering, including mainly the low-energy ion beams mutation breeding, fermentation pathway kinetics and transfer phenomenon, the couple of the fermentation and separation, the control of biochemical reaction networks and designing of scale-up of fermentation. As a project head and a coordinator, now he joins several projects, such as national major project of 863 program, project of National Natural Scientific Foundation, as well as the key R & D project of Anhui province. So far, two students for M.S. degree have graduated under his supervision. And two students for Ph. D and four students for M.S. degree have also graduated under his co-supervision. Now, there are 5 students for Ph.D or M.S.degree in study. The students with backgrounds of microbiology，biochemical or bioengineering are preferably welcome
