Biography
Gao Hongchang, professor, Ph.D. supervisor and Younger Subject Leader in Wenzhou Medical University. Dr. Gao had established 600 MHz NMR Laboratory and metabolomics research technology platform at Wenzhou Medical University to explore the basis and consequences of metabolic changes that occurs in diseases. The research areas include: (1) to study the early diagnosis and predict the evolution of disease before the onset of clinical symptoms by metabolomics analysis of patients with cirrhosis or tumors. (2) to study the metabolic profiling of diabetes and its complications in rats with time evolution by using serum, urine and tissue metabolomics to provide the comprehensive understanding of diabetes and its complications. (3) to study the metabolic changes of neurotransmitters in hyperglycemia encephalopathy, Parkinson, and other nervous system disease. I have published 40 SCI papers and these studies were highly recognized by the peers and have a certain influence.
Research Interest
To explore the basis and consequences of metabolic changes that occur in some diseases including diabetes, kidney diseases, and mental diseases using metabolomics approach.
