Wen Ding, Ph.D School of Power and Mechanical Engineering Wuhan University Phone: 86-15629074072 Email: dingwen@whu.edu.cn Education Background Apr. 2015 - Apr. 2016 Visiting scholar at Department of Electric and Computer Engineering, University of California, Riverside (UCR). Sept. 2003 - Jun. 2009 Ph.D. in Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics (conferred: Jun. 2009), Wuhan University, Wuhan, China Dissertation title: “Parasitic Extraction and Timing Modeling of High-Speed Interconnect” Sept. 1999 - Jun. 2003 B.S. in Applied Physics (conferred: Jun. 2003), School of Physics Science and Technology, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China Scientific Research Antenna design and optimization Developed a programming framework for automatic design and optimization of the PCB antenna employing the PSO and the QPSO (Quantum-behaved PSO) [1-4]. Carton nano-tube interconnect Modeling and simulating the time delay of the single-wall carbon nano-tube (SWCNT) and the multi-wall carbon nano-tube (MWCNT) interconnects with various vertical cross-section shapes using the quantum models and the Maxwell 2D and the SPICE simulators [10]. Wireless power transfer Modeling and simulation of a magnetic-resonance-based wireless power transfer system using the full wave simulation combined with the coupled model theory: the formula of energy transfer efficiency is derived, and the receiver-transmitter distance as well as the load impedance is optimized to attain the maximum energy transfer efficiency [6]. EM modeling and simulation Devised and coded a Matlab program (MetalSim V1.0) for scattering and radiation simulation of arbitrary 3D metallic surfaces based on numerical solving of the electrical field integral equation using the method of moment combined with the feeding model developed.
