Biography

Hong Zhou, Professor and Ph.D. supervisor, department of Automation, School of Power and Mechanical Engineering, Wuhan University. The director of National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center of Power Production Process. Routine director of China Energy Institute. Routine director of Hubei Institute of Automation. Member of the National Technical Standards Committee.  Research Interests: Automatic Control & Intelligent Grid Technology, Virtual Simulation Technology of Power Production Process, etc. Born in August 1962 in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. Native to Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. 1978-1982,major in Department of Automation, Central South University of Technology,and got Bachelor’s degree;  1985-1988,major in the graduate school of Chongqing University ,and got master’s degree;  2003-2006,studied in the graduate school of Wuhan University,and got doctor’s degree. 1982.9-1985.8,working as an assistant engineer in Changshou power station, Southwestern power administration.  1988.6-now,holding a teaching post in Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering. Unconventionally promoted to associate professor by ministry of power industry in 1993. Working as a supervisor of postgraduate from 1994. Promoted to professor in 2000. Holding a teaching post in Wuhan University from Aug. 2000. Successively holding the posts of lecturer, associate professor, professor, deputy director of the teaching and research section, deputy director of the Department, director of the Department. Holding the post of the director of National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center of Power Production Process from 2014 More than 100 research projects have been finished, including the National Natural Science Fund, National Power Grid Corp projects, etc. More than 200 academic papers have been published in core journals at home and abroad, including more than 100 academic papers in SCI, EI and ISTP. In addtion,more than 50 patents has been authorized , including national invention patents and national utility model patents.
