Biography
born into an ethnic Hui family in 1963 in Henan; Master of Arts (Wuhan University) and Master of Human Science (International Islamic University Malaysia); PhD in History from University of Malaya. He has been worked in some higher education institutions in Henan Province, China and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Istanbul, Turkey, teaching English language and literature and Chinese language and literature. His main research orientation in recent years, however, focused on ethnic and religious studies and he became a member of the National Hui Muslim Studies Society. His monograph in English, Identity and Struggles: the Hui in Modern China, was published in Istanbul in 2012. His journal articles, both on literary criticism and ethnic studies, amounted to 40 plus, which were published both at home and abroad.
