Transition metals and oxides, carbides deposition on nano carbon materials, including nanodiamond, carbon nanotubes, and graphene, as well as their electrochemistry and application in new energy fields. -- Research on doped carbon materials as free-platinum electrocatalysts or supports of low loading platinum electrocatalysts in fuel cells. -- Research on bifunctional non-noble metal catalysts in renewable energy conversion and storage technologies, including fuel cells, metal-air batteries, and water electrolysis -- Research on electrode materials in supercapacitors -- Coating on diamond and cubic grits with transition metals and preparation of composites based on superhard materials including diamond and cubic BN
