Biography

Mr. Muliro is an International Climate Protection (ACP) Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and a Research Associate at the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS). He is researching on “Vulnerability to flooding in Bukavu Urban Areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo” under the VARMAP section. Mr. Muliro is finalizing his Master’s programme in Geography of Environmental Risk and Human Security, a Joint Programme of the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) – and the Geography Department of the University of Bonn in Germany. In 2015, Mr. Muliro received a grant from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) through the West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) to conduct a study on “Livelihood Resilience of Inland Fishers in the Context of Climate Change in Northern Benin”. Prior, Mr. Muliro has also worked with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugees, Government of Rwanda, as a Vulnerability, Loss/Impact consultant.
