Biography

Pavlos Antoniou received his Ph.D. from Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus, in 2012. He received his Dip.-Ing. from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovio) Greece, in 2005. Currently, he is a member of the Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus. In addition, he is a member of the Networks Research Laboratory (NetRL). In the past, he served as a Research Associate of the Computer Science Department from September 2005 to June 2009. He worked for the RPF-funded MiND2C project that deals with Mimicking Nature for Designing Robust Congestion Control Mechanisms in Self-Organized Autonomous Decentralized Networks from December 2008 to June 2009. Also, he was involved in the EU-funded GINSENG project dealing with Performance Control in Wireless Sensor Networks from September 2008 to June 2009. Furthermore, he worked for the UCY funded ADAVIDEO project from August 2005 to November 2006 dealing with adaptive video transmission in the Internet.

Research Interest

Design and analysis of communication networks aspects regarding protocols, architectures applications, simulations and mathematical models for fixed, mobile, wired and wireless networks, such as the Internet TCP/IP, Ad-Hoc and Wireless Sensor Networks. In particular, he is involved in overload control and various control theoretic techniques such as adaptive and fuzzy control.
