Research Interest
Investigation of the onset and progression of familial and sporadic renal disorders within the Greek and Cypriot population by the identification of new mutations as well as phenotype modifying variants in predetermined gene panels, through the NGS technology and Sanger sequencing. The main purpose of this ongoing project is the development and the application of methodology for genetic screening of potential mutations and molecular diagnosis-prognosis of inherited glomerulopathies. ï‚· Population and evolutionary genetics. Genotyping of biallelic and microsatellite markers of the Y-chromosome and associated phylogeographic analysis. Pharmacogenetics. Molecular genetic testing of genomic variations that are associated with drug metabolism in Greek-Cypriots.
