Biography

Nicos Souleles holds a Doctorate of educational research from the University of Lancaster (England) with emphasis on elearning in art and design . He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education) from KvB Institute of Technology (Sydney, Australia), a Master's degree in Digital Design) from the University of Western Sydney (Australia) and an undergraduate degree (Honours) in Humanities majoring in Political Science and History from the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia). He is working in Higher Education since 1995, and has taught at:University of Western Sydney (Australia), Liverpool College of Further Education (Sydney, Australia), KvB Institute of Technology (Sydney, Australia), Cumbria Institute of the Arts (England), University of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) and Cyprus University of Technology. During this period of time he developed undergraduate and postgraduate programs (Australia, England, United Arab Emirates), he referred articles for the academic journals Higher Education Studies (published by the Canadian Center of Science and Education), and Journal of Online Learning and Teaching (JOLT), and was external examiner at the University of East London, Department of Innovation Studies, BSc Multimedia Studies (2001-2004), and the International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC), Liverpool John Moore's University (2005-2008). In 2011 he started the research lab ‘Art + Design: elearning lab’ (www.elearningartdesign.org), and began collaborating with the Centre for Pedagogic Arts-based Research (PEDARE) at Falmouth University (England) on the use of iPads in art and design.

Research Interest

His research interests focus on educational research in art and design, art and design and the knowledge economy, interdisciplinarity in art and design and constructivist learning in art and design.
