Research Interest

Studies on the interaction of (radio)toxic metal ions with colloids, mineral surfaces, natural organic matter and biochar fibres to understand and describe their chemical behaviour in the geosphere and the development of water treatment technologies. * Preparation and characterization of (radio)toxic metal ion complexes with bioactive ligands, as a first step in understanding the behavior of these elements in living systems and in the development of chelating drugs. * Development and application of simple and reliable radioanalytical methods for the determination of natural and man-made radioactivity in environmental samples and compartments.
