Dr. Hiraku Sasaki has received his Ph.D. in Animal Science from Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Iwate University. He has also received additional Ph.D. in Medical Science from Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba. As currently, he is working as an Associate Professor in Laboratory of Environmental Hygiene, Department of Health Science, Graduate School of Health and Sports Science, Juntendo University, Inzai, Chiba (Japan). His main research area is molecular pathogenesis of rodent respiratory pathogen Pasteurella pneumotropica and related genera. This agent is not only a rodent pathogen but bacterial infection model underlying human and animal opportunistic infection. He and his collaborator have clarified microbial genetics, pathogenesis, biochemistry and clinical immunology in rodent pathogens and related species, as well as viruses.
Microbial pathogenesis, opportunistic pathogens, Pasteurella, Yersinia, Zoonosis, Medical Microbiology, Novel antimicrobial agents, Veterinary Microbiology, Viral and bacterial superinfection.
