Biography
A senior R&D manager with an academic training in biochemistry (BA at Oxford, PhD at UCL) and 30 years’ industrial experience. A science leader with a successful track record of delivery in plant science, food biochemistry and clinical nutrition. Wealth of experience in patents: as an inventor (over 20 patents granted world-wide); in patent strategy and in patent portfolio management. Member of the BBSRC Bioscience for Industry (BSI) strategic panel (2010 – 2012); member of the BBSRC Bioscience Skills and Careers (BSC) strategic panel (2013 - 2015). Visiting Professor and Industrial Advisor at Cranfield University (School of Energy, Environment and Agrifood). Member of the KTN Food Sector Advisory Board. Co-founder and board member of the NIBB for high value chemicals from plants (HVCfP). Actively involved with external reporting of science (Press, Web, Live radio, Local TV).
