Prof. Dr. Sümer ŞAHİN was Professor of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. 1981: Promotion to a Full Professor in Nuclear Engineering, University of Ege, İzmir, Türkiye. 1973: Habilitation (Doçent-Dozent) in Physics, University of Ankara, Ankara, Türkiye. 1970: Doktor-Ingenieur (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany. 1967: Diplom-Ingenieur (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany. The Graduation Ceremony for the Fall Term of 2016-2017 of the Near East University Faculty of Engineering has been realized with intensive participation
Research Interest
Dr. Sümer ŞAHİN research interest was in Neutron Transport Theory, Nuclear Radiation Shielding, Thermionic Space Craft Reactors, Space Craft Nuclear Propulsion, Fusion Technology, Fusion Fission (Hybrid) Reactors, Nuclear Waste Transmutation, Alternative Fuels for CANDU Reactors, Accelerator Driven Systems and Concentrated Solar Power.
