Biography
Ing. Ladislav ŠtÄ›pánek graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He worked for the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant (1981 – 1983) and in Podnik automatizaÄní techniky (Automation Equipment Enterprise) (1983 – 1985). In the period 1985 – 1993, he worked as a senior research worker for the Institute of Nuclear Fuels in Prague-Zbraslav. In ÄŒEZ, he worked in the past as a section director for the CEO and Board Office and as the Deputy Purchasing Manager. From 2004, he was director of the Fuel Cycle department, which controls coal and nuclear fuel purchasing. Ladislav ŠtÄ›pánek also represents ÄŒEZ in leading professional associations, being for instance vice-chairman of the Board of SÚRAO (RAWRA – Radioactive Waste Repository Authority) where he represents radioactive waste producers in the nuclear power sector.
