Peter Palečka

Biography

Member of the Board, Senior Executive Director, Corporate Secretary Graduate of the University of Economics, Bratislava. From 1982 to 1988, Mr Palečka worked in foreign trade enterprises. Between 1989 and 1992, he worked at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic. From 1992 to 1994, he was the Permanent Representative of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic and then of the Czech Republic to GATT, and from 1995 to 1998 he was the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the World Trade Organization. He joined Komerčni banka in 1998 as the director for Strategy. In October 1999, he was elected a member and in April 2000 Vice-Chairman of Komerčni banka’s Board of Directors. On 5 October 2001, he was re-elected as a member and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. At present, he is a member of the Board of Directors and Corporate Secretary. Mr Palečka is also vice-chairman of the supervisory board and chairman of the audit committee of Modra pyramida.
