John G. Schwarz

Biography

Dr. John G. Schwarz co-founded Visier, Inc. in 2010 and has been its Chief Executive Officer since May 2010. Dr. Schwarz served as a Member of the Business Strategy & Development Focus Team of Veracode, Inc. since April 2007. He served as the Chief Executive Officer for Business Objects SA, a holding company of Inxight Software Inc. at Cartesis SA from September 2005 to 2008. Dr. Schwarz served as Chief Executive Officer of Business Objects Corp. He served as a Member of Management Board of SAP AG from March 1, 2008 to February 2010 and served as Chief Executive Officer of SAP Business Objects until 2010. He served as General Manager of Business Objects SA. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Symantec Corp. from January 2002 to July 2005. He served as Co-President of Symantec Corp. since July 5, 2005 where he was responsible for go-to-market activities, product development and the integration of the SAP Business Objects unit. Dr. Schwarz served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Reciprocal Inc. from January 2000 to October 2001. He was with International Business Machines Corp. for 25 years, where he served as General Manager of Industry Solutions unit. He held numerous development positions within IBM Corporation, including Vice President of Development for its Personal Software Products division. He has been the Chairman of the Board at AVAST Software s.r.o. since January 2014 and has been its Director since December 2011. He serves as Chairman of the Software Division Board for the Information Technology Association of America. Dr. Schwarz has been an Independent Director at Synopsys Inc. since May 2007. He serves as a Director of Business Objects Corp. and Visier, Inc. He has been a Director of Teradata Corporation since September 20, 2010. He served as a Director of SuccessFactors, Inc. since September 2010 until June 3, 2011. Dr. Schwarz served as a Non-independent Director of Business Objects SA since January 25, 2006. He served as a Director of Verity Inc. since March 10, 2003. He served as a Member of Advisory board at Veracode, Inc. since April 2007. He is a member of the Dalhousie University Advisory Board. Dr. Schwarz holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Toronto and an BS Degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba and a Doctorate in Law from Dalhousie University, Halifax in 2004 and also received honorary Ph.D.
