Dr. David Erlinge

Biography

Prof. Dr. Erlinge graduated in medicine from the University of Lund, in 1990, where he also earned his PhD. He has been a visiting research fellow at Cornell University Medical College in New York. In 2006 he received the Lars Werkö distinguished research fellowship and was appointed Professor in Cardiology at Lund University in 2008. He is the Head of the Cardiology Department at the Skåne University Hospital in Lund. Professor Erlinge’s clinical speciality is invasive cardiology (PCI) and his main research interests are in the areas of acute coronary syndromes, platelet function and cardioprotection. He has published over 240 original publications in international peer reviewed scientific journals and is a fellow of the ACC, the ESC, a member of EAPCI and the American Heart Association, amongst others. He is also a former president of the Swedish society of cardiology.
