Biography
I have a Master’s degree in anthropology from Aarhus University, with particular focus on design anthropology and innovation processes. As part of my studies, I conducted fieldwork in Silicon Valley. In anthropology, we approach human practice in a reflexive way to explore what lies behind people’s assumptions and actions. In other words, we not only look at what people do but also why they do as they do. In essence, anthropology is about posing the right questions – either to understand the users, to see problems from a new perspective, or to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration. My professional focus is on the relationship between the human and the material. I am interested in how technologies and objects contribute to co-creating our social lives, and I actively use artefacts in my work with users and other professionals. My work covers multiple domains, problem fields and project types but a common denominator for all my activities is bringing the application perspective into the process.
