Nel Jan

Biography

Jan Nel serves as Technical Director of Special Services at Aspirata Microbiological and Chemical Laboratory. Mr. Nel is an accomplished technical director with the strong ability to maintain high quality standards to void time and cost expenditures. He was National Deputy Director of Environmental Health. He joined Aspirata in 2001. He is registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as an Environmental Health Practitioner and has more than 35 years of experience in being an Environmental, Health & Safety specialist for leading organisations in the food industry. As a Specialist Food Safety and Quality Auditor, he is actively involved in national and international food safety and quality assessments at the facilities of leading food manufacturers and distributors. He has been involved in training for many years and is internationally qualified as a skilled presenter of HACCP as well as Hygiene, Food Safety and Quality training courses. He holds a National Higher Diploma in Public Health, Free State Technikon, South Africa (1992), National Certificate in Air Pollution Control, Technikon South Africa (1989) and National Diploma in Health Inspector, Technikon Pretoria, South Africa (1975).
