Penghui Chen

Biography

Mr. Chen Penghui, also known as Kevin, serves as Partner and Healthcare Partner at Sequoia Capital China. Mr. Chen has been Executive Director at Shenzhen Qianhai Sequoia Guangjing Investment Management Ltd. since August 8, 2014, and Partner at Sequoia Capital Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch since May 12, 2014. Prior to this, Mr. Chen served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of ShangPharma Co., Ltd. from January 10, 2011 to December 2011 and since 2008 respectively. He served as Head of Medical Fund and Managing Director at China Everbright Limited. Previously, Mr. Chen served as the Chief Financial Officer of ShangPharma Co., Ltd. from September 2010 to January 10, 2011 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer until January 10, 2011. He served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and President at Shang Hua Pharmaceutical Group. He served as Funds Officer at Everbright medical and healthcare Fybd. Prior to joining ShangPharma Co., Ltd., Mr. Chen served as Vice President for Investments of CITIC Capital, a China-focused private equity fund in Shanghai, China. In 2007, Mr. Chen worked for Eaton Corporation in Shanghai, China in charge of corporate development. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Chen worked for Dupont Corporation in Shanghai as a Business Development Manager. Prior to that, he served as a Scientist and Researcher at Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He has been a Director of ShangPharma Co., Ltd. 2008, BGI Genomics Co., Ltd. since June 2015. He has been Director at Chengdu Angel Medical Holdings Limited since April 27, 2015, Director at Forerunner Medical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. since November 23, 2015, Director at Shenzhen Yuanzheng Cells Medical Technology Co., Ltd. since July 9, 2015, Independent Director at Shanghai Fumed Tianjian Co., Ltd. since December 30, 2015, and Director at Qingdao Bai Yang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. since September 15, 2015. He serves as Director of Jiangsu Yuyue Medical Equipment & Supply Co., Ltd.
