Shi Wang

Biography

Mr. Shi Wang has been Honorary Chairman of China Vanke Co., Ltd. Mr. Wang served as the Chairman of China Vanke Co. Ltd. since 1988 until June 30, 2017 and served as its Executive Director. Mr. Wang serves as an Executive Manager of China Real Estate Association and serves as Deputy Director of the City Housing Development Council of China Real Estate Association. He founded China Vanke Co, Ltd. and served as its General Manager from 1988 to 1999. He worked in Guangzhou Railway Bureau from 1978 to 1980, Guangdong Provincial Committee from 1981 to 1983 and Shenzhen Special Region Development Company from 1983 to 1984. He joined the military force in 1968. He changed his career in 1973 and worked in the Water and Electrical supply department of Zhengzhou Railway. He has almost 20 years of experience in real estate development in the PRC. He has been the Chairman of China Vanke Co Ltd. since 1988. He has been a Director of Sohu.com Inc., since May 31, 2005. He has been an Independent Director at BGI Genomics Co., Ltd. since June 2015. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Central China Real Estate Limited since January 2008, Modern Media Holdings Limited since August 24, 2009. He has been a Director of Metersbonwe Fashion Accessories Co., Ltd. since November 2007. He served as Independent Non Executive Director of China Resources Land Limited since April 1997 until June 2, 2017. He organized "Shenzhen Exhibition Center of Modern Science and Education Equipment", the predecessor of Vanke, in 1984. Mr. Wang has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lanzhou Railway College (Lanzhou Jiaotong University) in China majoring in water supply in September 1977.
