Biography
Mr. Peter S. Benton, M.B.A, serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Worldwide Clinical Trials, LLC. Mr. Benton serves as the Founder of Flexible Medical Systems, LLC. Mr. Benton has been an Executive Vice President of BioClinica, Inc. (formerly, Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc.), since March 2009. He has been the President of eClinical of Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc., since March 2009. Mr. Benton served as the Chief operating Officer at Flexible Medical Systems, LLC. He served as Executive Vice President of eClinical of Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. He served as the President of Phoenix Data Systems, Inc., since September 2008. Mr. Benton served as an Interim Chief Operating Officer of Merge eClinical Inc. since July 23, 2007, Chief Operating Officer from November 8, 2007 to April 2008 and its Vice President from November 2007 to April, 2008. He was responsible for managing all clinical operations, support and application development teams to drive world-class service delivery of etrials Worldwide, Inc. He also served as consultant of etrials Worldwide, Inc., from July 2007 to November 2007. From April 2004 to November 2007 he served as Managing Director of Wharton Venture Partners and its related entities. From September 2001 to March 2004, he served as Vice President for Johnson & Johnson's Pharmaceutical Research and Development business. He serves as the Chairman of Flexible Medical Systems, LLC. Prior to J&J, Mr. Benton held positions at TRW and General Electric. Mr. Benton has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of C-level and senior-management roles in the pharmaceutical (nearly four years at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical), medical device, industrial and aerospace industries. Mr. Benton holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA in finance and strategy from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
