Biography
" My research interests focus on the interplay between social character, social relations, power and class. By shedding light on the recruitment patterns, networks and dispositions of the elite we get closer to understanding the distribution and exercise of power. This knowledge is essential when assessing the relationship between the democratic ideals within a society and the current state of its institutions. Furthermore I focus on developing new methods and producing methodological tools. I believe that social theory rarely breaks new ground unless it is challenged by new methodologies. But these methods should fit the sociological imagination and the sociological tradition instead of merely importing foreign methods from other disciplines. My main contribution to these methodological developments are the R packages; soc.ca, soc.elite and MONECA."
