Biography
"I work with principles for terminological concept analysis and the use of formal feature specifications for the representation of characteristics with a view to automatizing the process of ontology construction and definition writing. I also work with database theory (conversion of ontologies into data models). Currently, most of my research lies within the project DanTermBank (project leader), which aims at creating the foundations for a national term and knowledge bank (automatic term and knowledge extraction, ontology building and validation). Former interdisciplinary projects concerning ontologies (SIABO and OntoQuery), corporate term bases (the DANTERM project) and networks (EU projects NORDTERM-Net and TDCnet). In ISO, the International Standards Organization, I participate in TC37 (Terminology and other Language Resources)."
Research Interest
"Terminology and concept clarification Knowledge structuring, ontologies, classifications and meta data taxonomies Automatic creation and validation of ontologies Terminology work in companies and public authorities Database theory, data models, user interfaces, lexical and terminological databases"
