James Keith

Biography

Keith James, Ph.D., serves as Senior Vice President of R&D and President of Ferring Research Institute at Ferring Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Dr. James has spent his career in pharmaceutical R&D, having worked 29 years for Pfizer both in Europe and the United States. He served as Vice President and Visiting Investigator at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. Dr. James served as the Chief Executive Officer of AccessData Group, Inc. since November 11, 2015 until November 2, 2016. He served as an Executive Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing at AccessData Group, Inc. until November 11, 2015. Prior to AccessData, Mr. James held positions of increasingly senior leadership at LexisNexis, most recently as its vice president of litigation software, hosting and professional services businesses. Previously, Dr. James served in a variety of executive research positions at Pfizer, including Vice President of Discovery Research and Research Site Head of Pfizer La Jolla. He was responsible for research leading to the discovery of Relpax for migraine and Selzentry for HIV. Dr. James has been a Member of Therapeutic Advisory Board at aTyr Pharma Inc. since March 1, 2011. He was recognized for his contributions with the Industrial Lectureship award from the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2000. He also spent two years as a NATO Research Fellow at Stanford University, California and Columbia University, New York before beginning his drug discovery career. Dr. James has a BSc. in Chemistry from Imperial College in London and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge.
