Biography

Stephen M. Case, also known as Steve, co-founded Revolution LLC in 2005 and has been its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman since April 2005. Mr. Case is a Co-Founder and Partner of Revolution Growth II, L.P. and Revolution Growth and also serves as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. He is a Co-Founder and Partner of Revolution Ventures. He serves at Revolution Ventures II, L.P. He is a Partner of Revolution Growth III, LP. He is the General Partner of Rise Of The Rest Seed Fund, LP at Rise of the Rest. Mr. Case co-founded Case Foundation Company in 1997 and serves as its Chairman. He serves as an Advisor of Sweetgreen, Inc. He co-founded Revolution Health Group LLC in 2005 and served as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Historic AOL LLC which he co-founded in 1985. He Co-Founded America Online in 1985 and served as its Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of America Online, Inc. from 1995 to January 2001. He founded Revolution Health Network and served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was Partner of Capital Investors II, L.P and Capital Investors. He served as Chairman of Oath Inc. until 2003 and also served as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Case is the Owner at Exclusive Resorts, LLC and has been its Co-Chairman of The Board since November 2004 and Director since 2003. He has been the Chairman of Warner Communications LLC since January 11, 2001. Mr. Case serves as the Chairman of Startup America Partnership, LLC and The Stephen Case Foundation. He served as the Chairman of Time Warner Inc. from January 2001 to May 2003. He served as Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P. and AOL Time Warner since January 11, 2001. He has been a Director of Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. since December 8, 2008 and Sweetgreen, Inc. since December 4, 2013. Mr. Case has been a Director of Revolution Foods, Inc. since June 2014. He serves as a Director of BigCommerce Pty. Ltd., Bigcommerce Inc. and Tagshine Corp. Mr. Case has been a Member of the Board of Regents at Smithsonian Institution since May 2011. He served as a Director of Serve Virtual Enterprises, Inc. He served as an Independent Director at Bloom Energy Corporation from July 2014 to March 2016 and BigCommerce Holdings, Inc. from July 2013 to October 2015. He served as a Director of Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P. and AOL Time Warner. He served as a Director of Time Warner Inc. since 2001. He served as Affiliated Director of Historic TW Inc. since January 2001. He served as a Director of SnagFilms Inc. until July 12, 2016, Zipcar, Inc. from October 2010 to March 14, 2013 and BrainScope Company, Inc. since November 2008. He served as a Director of FedBid, Inc. and AddThis. He also was the Founding Co-chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship and a Member of President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. Mr. Case was also honored with the National Mentoring Partnership Leadership Award. He is one of America's best-known and most accomplished entrepreneurs and a pioneer in making the Internet part of everyday life. Mr. Case is also the author of The Third Wave: An Entrepreneur's Vision of the Future. He was named a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship In 2014.
