Biography

Steven J. Murray, also known as Steve, CPA has been a Managing Partner at Revolution Growth since January 25, 2016. He joined SoftBank Capital in 1997 and focused on digital media technologies as well as a variety of technology based services. He was in charge of the financial and legal affairs at SoftBank Capital. He has extensive experience in IoT, Digital Health, Fintech, Sports-Tech and Machine Learning/AI. He served as the Chief Financial Officer at SOFTBANK Holdings, Inc. and the SOFTBANK Group. Mr. Murray served at SoftBank Capital since April 1996. During his tenure at SoftBank, he was the Principal Executive responsible for several billions of dollars of complex structured monetization strategies including initial public offerings, secondary public offerings, mergers, private sales, public market block sale transaction and complex collars. He served at Softbank for more than eight years and had worked effectively for nearly 20 years with technology companies including Yahoo, E-Trade, GeoCities, Ziff Davis, GSI Commerce, BuzzFeed, Criteo, Fitbit, xAd, Kabbage and many others. He started his career in the Audit Department at Deloitte and Touche, where he specialized in serving numerous acquisitive and high growth technology based businesses including KKR, Primark Corporation, Harcourt General and IDG. He has over 20 years of industry experience sourcing and managing investments as well as coordinating corporate finance and accounting activities. He has been a Director of Interactions LLC since November 10, 2015. He sits on the board of TrackR and Uptake. He has been a Director of BigCommerce Pty. Ltd. since November 19, 2014 and Fitbit, Inc. since June 2013. He serves as a Director of MobileDay Inc. and Bigcommerce Inc. He serves as a Director of DraftKings, Inc., blinkx, Inc., EdCast, Anystream, Inc., Grab Media, Kony, Inc., Kabbage, Mobile Posse, Inc., xAD, Inc., BERJ and Grab Networks, Inc. He served as a Director of VoodooVox, Inc., Webhire, Inc., Pivot, Inc., Equifax eMarketing Solutions, Inc., Ziplist, Rivermine Software, Inc., Image Systems AB, National Leisure Group, Viacore, Inc., Sermo, Voxant, Inc., Nellymoser, Inc., and Echo360, Inc. Mr. Murray has served on the Board of Directors of both public and private companies and has extensive experience in fundraising, merger and acquisition, operations and all levels of corporate governance. Mr. Murray is Certified Public Accountant. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Boston College during 1986 to 1990.
