Biography
Torsten Goesch, M.D., Ph.D., MBA has been Partner of Rosetta Capital Limited since 2002. Dr. Goesch is responsible for the management of several Rosetta Capital investments and has served on several biotech company boards including Enobia Ltd and Cytochroma Ltd. He serves as an Executive at BioScience Managers Limited, Investment Arm. Dr. Goesch combines a medical background with more than 25 years of operational and deal-making experience in the life science sector. He has a proven commercial track record in building high-growth biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and is an experienced General Manager in international business settings. He joined BioScience in July 2002. From 1999 to 2002, Dr. Goesch served as Managing Director of TRG Invest, which he founded in 1999. From 1997 to 1999, Dr. Goesch served as the General Manager for Central Europe at Biogen. He served as Managing Director for the German speaking region at Biogen, where he built the Central-European business (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) from start-up to DM100 million in sales within two years and led the newly launched product Avonex to a 40% market share within a year. Prior to Biogen, Dr. Goesch served as the Commercial Head for the worldwide generics drug business of Merck Generics. Dr. Goesch served at Merck as Head of Strategy and Acquisitions from 1993 to 1995. He has been a Director of Rosetta Capital Limited since 2002. He serves as a Director of EyeSense AG, Biosergen, Promore Pharma AB (publ), Dilafor AB and Modus Therapeutics AB. Dr. Goesch has been a Director of Forward Pharma A/S since June 2006. Dr. Goesch served as a Member of Advisory Board at JADO Technologies GmbH. He served as a Director of STI Technologies Limited. From 1988 to 1990, he practiced as a Medical Doctor in internal medicine at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, with a particular focus on nephrology, immunology and oncology Dr. Goesch received M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Chicago in 1992 and holds a MD and PhD in 1988 from the Heinrich Heine University.
