Biography
Dr. Peter Klaus Kaspar is a Regional Partner at Mérieux Développement SAS. Dr. Kaspar served as Corporate Vice President of Microbiology at bioMerieux S.A. Dr. Kaspar served as the Corporate Vice President of Research & Development at bioMérieux Inc. until March 31, 2011. He worked for bioMérieux SA from 2006 to 2011 as Head of Unit of Microbiology and Research Director and global development. Dr. Kaspar served as a Director of the R&D department at bioMerieux S.A. since September 18, 2006. He joined bioMérieux S.A in 2005 as Head of the Molecular Biology Business Unit. From 2004 to 2005, he served as Business Development and Technology Manager at the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND). From 2005 to 2006, he led the technological development and business development of FIND. From 1980 to 2004, he was In Charge of scientific research at Boehringer Mannheim GmbH, then at Roche Diagnostics in Germany, Latin America and the United States. At Boehringer Mannheim GmbH, until 2006, he held several management positions in R&D, business development and strategy in Germany, Mexico and the United States. From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a Professor and Expert at Asuncion University (Paraguay), where he set up a development and production center for tropical disease diagnostic products. Dr. Kaspar has been a Director of Daktari Diagnostics, Inc. since August 5, 2015. He served on the board of several biotechnology companies in the United States and Germany. He has over 30 years of experience in the industry of life sciences and diagnostics. Dr. Kaspar studied and was trained in biochemistry and medicine at the Universities of Münster and Berlin in Germany and at the University of Lille in France.
