Biography

Markku Silén served as the Chairman of The Board at Fifth Element Oy. Mr. Silén served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nordic Region and Communication and High Tech Lead at Accenture from 2002 to 2006 managing strong growth. Prior to that Mr. Silén served as Chief Executive Officer of Andersen Consulting/Accenture, again managing substantial growth and running one of the best performing country units within the group. His strongest achievements relate to business innovations, managing profitable growth and major turnaround programmes in the global environment. Previously, Mr. Silén has been the Chairman of the Finnish Management Consultants Association LJK from 1997 to 1999. He has also held board memberships in the Finnish IT services companies' TIPAL from 1996 to 1999 as well as in Rintekno and Valio-Data from 1993 to 1994. He has more than 25 years of experience in consulting, technology solutions and systems integration. His strongest achievements relate to business innovations, managing profitable growth and major turnaround programs in global environment. Mr. Silén has particular industry knowledge in communications, media and high tech sectors. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Inion Oy since May 2007 and serves as an Independent Director at Ethos Technologies Inc.
