Biography
Honors: Member of the Danish Academy of Natural Sciences (DNA). Member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV). Prizes: The 2008 manufacturer Ulrich Brinch and wife Marie Brinch's honorary prize. The 2012 ATV|Elastyren Prize. Leadership: Managing a section at DTU Nanotech, and Polymer Department/Danish Polymer Centre at Risø DTU/Risø National Laboratory (40-50 employees, turnover 40 Mkr./year). Coordinator of an EU training of researchers network. Heading a Human Frontier Science Program project grant RGP41/2004. Heading a FTP major research project grant 274-07-0172. Deputy Head of VKR Centre of Excellence NAMEC. Educational coordinator at DTU Nanotech
Research Interest
e Kristoffer Almdal research interest are Polymer synthesis, anionic polymerization, self-organization phenomena, mesophase structure, functional polymeric nanoparticles and sensors, rheology, polymer degradation; critical phenomena, small angle scattering, size exclusion chromatography, interfaces in polymer composites, polymeric biomaterials.
